About the Event
Izazov is a dynamic, first-of-its-kind online AI challenge for students, organized by Red Black Tree. It presents a unique opportunity to explore the world of large language models (LLMs) and their practical applications.
In this edition, participants will take on a hands-on challenge to build a Serbian language GenAI agent using a curated dataset of real-world information. Working with authentic, unstructured data from multiple sources, you will design intelligent systems that can understand, process, and respond to user queries in the natural Serbian language.
Your task is to create an AI agent capable of providing accurate, helpful responses based on the provided dataset. The challenge will test your ability to combine natural language processing, data understanding, and practical problem-solving to build a system that can effectively communicate with users and deliver relevant information.
Whether you are passionate about AI, data, or simply love turning ideas into solutions, Izazov is your space to explore, create, and discover what happens when AI meets real-world applications. The most effective and innovative solutions will be recognized as winners.
What Can You Expect
Kick-off lecture by Prof. Dejan Vujić (State University of Novi Pazar), offering valuable insights into large language models (LLMs) and agent development topics.
Challenge reveal with a full breakdown of the task and all the data you’ll need to get started.

Event ClosingFAQ
A: Yes, Izazov is 100% free to join! But, you will need to independently cover the cost of accessing a large language model (LLM), including the purchase of tokens or usage credits, if required for the solution.
A: You’re free to choose the tools, languages, and platforms you prefer, as long as the final solution meets the task requirements.
A: You’ll build a Gen AI agent that can understand and answer real life related questions. You’ll receive PDF documents as input and you will have the opportunity to create the solution that you find the best.
A: The full challenge guidelines and materials will be shared during the opening session, but here are the key points:
- You must apply as a team of 1 to 5 students.
- Participation is limited to 40 students.
- Each participant must use their own laptop and team infrastructure during the challenge.
- You’re free to choose your tech stack, but the solution must use a public large language model (LLM).
- The core of your solution should be based on the data provided by the organizers, with the option to enrich it using publicly available sources.
- Guidelines for mentorship and consultations will be shared at the start of the event.
A: Absolutely! The more useful and intuitive your agent is, the better your chances.
A: Yes, criteria such as:
- Quality of the prepared and oral presentation of the project
- Technical implementation of the Gen AI agent and visual design
- System architecture and technical choices (e.g., LLM selection, training approach)
- Efficiency and usability of the solution
