NEARSHORE DEVELOPMENT
Nearshore software development in Serbia
We build software for clients across the EU and the US, on the European business day. Our engineers stay on the same product for years instead of moving between accounts.

WHAT WE BUILD
Products that have to keep running.
Cloud, AI and machine learning, big data, cybersecurity, IoT and real-time communication, for fintech, healthcare, education, automotive and emobility. Long-lived systems, real users, real consequences when they break.
WHY SERBIA
The distance that matters is measured in hours, not kilometers.
An offshore team burns a working day on every question that needs an answer. Serbia removes that penalty: the team is in your meetings, in your standups, and still reachable at five in the afternoon.
One time zone with the EU
Serbia runs on Central European Time, the same clock as Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, Berlin and Vienna, and one hour ahead of Lisbon and London.
ISO/IEC 27001 certified since 2017
RBT has held ISO/IEC 27001 certification continuously since January 2017, covering software development, embedded development and DevOps. Data protection terms are agreed with each client in the contract.
Senior engineers
Engineering teams across Belgrade, Čačak and Novi Pazar.
An EU candidate country
Serbia is an EU candidate and is aligning its laws with the EU acquis, so the contract terms an EU client is used to carry over.
HOW YOU ENGAGE US
Three models. Pick by who owns the outcome.
The model decides who carries the risk and who runs the plan. Everything else, from team size to reporting cadence, follows from that choice and can change as the engagement grows.
Team augmentation
Named engineers join your existing team, your process and your backlog. Use it when you know what to build and need more capacity or a skill your team does not have yet.
Dedicated team
A standing cross-functional team owns a product or a service area, either alongside your in-house team or standalone. Use it for long-running work where continuity matters more than a fixed scope.
Project-based delivery
RBT owns scope, plan and delivery against an agreed outcome. Use it for a defined build, a modernization, or an MVP with a date attached.
FAQ
What time zone do your engineers work in?
Central European Time: UTC+1 in winter, UTC+2 in summer, the same clock as Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam. That gives you the full EU business day and a shared afternoon with the US East Coast.
How is our data protected under the engagement?
RBT has held ISO/IEC 27001 certification continuously since January 2017, covering software development, embedded development and DevOps. Data protection terms are agreed with each client in the contract.
What's the difference between team augmentation and a dedicated team?
With augmentation, named engineers join your team, process and backlog. It fits when you know what to build and need more capacity or a missing skill. A dedicated team is a standing cross-functional team that owns a product or service area, alongside your in-house team or standalone. It fits long-running work where continuity matters more than fixed scope.
How long does it take to get a team started?
A scoping call takes 30 minutes. A written proposal with the team's CVs follows, and onboarding starts once you approve it. Typical time from scoping call to first day of delivery is 2 weeks.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. RBT has 70+ full-time employees and no subcontractors.
Why do EU companies nearshore software development to Serbia?
Serbia sits in the Central European time zone, so a Serbian team shares the whole working day with Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Zurich and Stockholm, and is one hour ahead of London. It has a deep pool of university-trained engineers, and an EU client contracts with a Serbian team in English, on terms agreed in the contract.
What is the time difference between Serbia and the EU or the US?
Serbia runs on CET in winter and CEST in summer, the same clock as most of the EU. That is one hour ahead of the UK and usually six hours ahead of the US East Coast, leaving a full overlap with the European working day and a shared afternoon with US morning hours.
How does RBT handle data protection?
RBT has held ISO/IEC 27001 certification continuously since January 2017, covering software development, embedded development and DevOps. RBT contracts as a Serbian legal entity, and data protection terms, data classification and access rules are agreed with each client in the contract before delivery starts.
What engagement models does RBT offer for nearshore work?
Three. Team augmentation puts named engineers inside your existing team and process. A dedicated team owns a product or service area over the long term. Project-based delivery makes RBT accountable for scope, plan and outcome against an agreed date.
How big is RBT and where are its engineers?
RBT is a Serbian software development company founded in 2012, with more than 70 full-time employees working from offices in Belgrade, Čačak and Novi Pazar. Engineers are employed directly and stay on the same products for years rather than rotating between accounts: 7 in 10 spend a full year on a single client product and nothing else.
What kind of software does RBT build for nearshore clients?
Custom software across cloud application development, AI and machine learning, big data, cybersecurity, IoT and real-time communication, delivered for clients in fintech, healthcare, education, automotive and emobility.
HOW IT STARTS
The team arrives with its own practice.
Scoping call
What you are building, which model fits, which skills are missing. Thirty minutes, no pitch deck.
Proposal and profiles
A written engagement proposal with the model, the shape of the team and the CVs of the engineers who would actually do the work.
Team and leadership
RBT assembles a trained team with a Team Lead, and a Project Lead where the engagement needs one. Established practice arrives with the people and is adapted to how your company already works.
Onboarding and delivery
The team joins your tooling and cadence, and delivery starts against your backlog rather than a parallel process.

We will tell you what the team looks like.
A scoping call takes thirty minutes. If there is a fit, a written proposal follows with the model, the shape of the team and the engineers we would put on it.
